Cost Effectiveness

Face to face or online? ...You decide:

Both kinds of course delivery have their place and they offer different learning experiences to participants. An effective leadership development programme ideally combines both elements. There are however significant differences in costs.

What can we provide for £100?

Here we compare a fairly typical face to face course for 20 participants with a course provided for the same money in an online environment. In neither case do the figures include the costs of course development.

Face to face course (1 day):

Group of 20

Per participant

- 6 hours of learning  on one day
- 6 hours of facilitation
- Face to face presentation
- Large group and small group activities
- Practical activities (e.g. role-play)
- Social and professional networking
- A day out of school

Facilitated online learning - so much more than online activity

The challenge and support provided by online facilitation leads to effective professional learning. This exceeds anything that is achieved by participants who merely visit online resources in a self-directed way.

SELTnet Online Facilitator Training (SOFT) courses are now available and provide training for those wishing to facilitate online courses in support of the National College Modular Curriculum at Levels 1-3. Click the link below to find out more:
