The Diocese of Chichester
SELT works in partnership with the Anglican Chichester Diocese and, following enquiries from new headteachers about the leadership of church schools, we would like to draw your attention to the programme outlined below.
Similar programmes have run successfully for a number of years and received very positive feedback.
The Distinctive Leadership of Church Schools

This is in addition to a day of visits to be agreed with participants.
Cost: £550 to include lunch on two days and a day with a leadership coach.
Course aim: To secure knowledge and understanding of the distinctive nature of leading a church school
Course Outline:
- A pre-course task
- Two tutor led days covering aspects of leadership and management specific to church schools
- Links between participants and experienced headteachers of church schools
- A third day completing a leadership enquiry task based on visits to at least two schools
Participants will:
- Assess a range of models of Christian leadership
- Evaluate critically the role of educational leadership in the context of a church school
- Consider the implications for their personal development as a church school leader

Cost: £80/£100 (fee depends on whether the school has bought into our Service Level Agreement).
