Introduction
Imagine a programme for new headteachers to develop their thinking and practice as leaders. That is exactly what NCSL has created in New Visions. This innovative and creative leadership learning programme, recently revised to build on the learning of the original programme, is for all new headteachers. The programme promotes personal and organisation change through fostering a long-term commitment to leadership learning in ways that have direct impact across the school.
New Visions brings together new headteachers in dynamic regional groups which explore real life challenges and work collaboratively on solutions to the issues they face everyday in their schools.

Opportunities to work collaboratively with other headteachers across local authorities, to share successful practice and to problem solve have been particularly valued.
|
New Visions now forms a core element of Early Headship Provision and builds on earlier preparation and experience such as NPQH. The programme empowers headteachers to develop personally and professionally so that they become powerful role models for colleagues in order to support the growth of future leaders in their own schools and system wide.
