Southern Educational Leadership Trust
Educational Leadership Development and School Improvement/Governor Services
SELT is a charity dedicated to educational leadership at all levels and to school improvement. SELT works closely with schools across the Southern regions and more widely in a national context. It has strong links with national educational providers such as the National College, TDA and Children’s Workforce Development Council. SELT has a long standing and successful record of working in a complementary way with Local Authorities, Dioceses, Universities and HEIs in order to provide the highest quality provision for leadership development, talent management and school improvement.
In the changing education landscape SELT will continue to provide high quality leadership and school improvement programmes and will focus its provision on working with schools, networks and in localities to offer and co-construct bespoke provision to match individual school(s) needs and priorities. We already have extensive experience in tailoring programmes. Schools frequently return to SELT for continued support. As a provider of NPQH and other major National College programmes SELT is uniquely placed to support Teaching Schools and other organisations as a partner in licensing arrangements.
SELT provides a continuum of its own leadership development programmes from early school/classroom leaders to middle leaders, senior leaders and Headteacher/system leaders. In addition it has high quality provision for leadership teams in individual schools or groups of schools. All of the programmes can be tailored to meet the bespoke needs of schools, academies, clusters and federations. We are happy to deliver in schools locally.
SELT has a large field force of associates/consultants with expertise in every aspect of leadership development, change management and school improvement and we are keen to discuss with potential clients their individual and collective requirements.
SELT has considerable experience in supporting e-learning and is able to provide expertise in the construction of online learning modules.
Much of SELT’s work in the context of national programmes is based in the three Southern regions of the country, the South East, the South West and London, but our services are available nationally and internationally.
We are the Southern provider of the National Professional Qualification for Headship under the auspices of the National College and have long standing experience of assessment, training and development of middle and senior leaders in schools and children’s services as well. Our support for new and experienced serving headteachers is extensive and highly valued.
SELT is able to use its broad experience in leadership provision to help Teaching Schools and other partnerships and collaborations to create their own leadership development / talent management strategies/policies and to work with governors on a range of issues. SELT can also offer advice and support on Assessment and Development Centres and selection and interviewing.
For those organisations looking for speakers we are able to broker these and to undertake conference administration. High quality conference facilities are also available at our two leadership centres in Sittingbourne in Kent and Taunton in Somerset. These facilities are available at charity rates.
To view our services initially do look at our website www.selt.org.uk but for more detailed information email Janice Shannon, Office Manager, Janice.shannon@selt.org.uk who will arrange a discussion with a relevant colleague.
