DEVELOPING SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAMS (DSLT)
Southern Educational Leadership Trust holds the contract for National College's new Developing Senior Leadership Team Programme.
Developing Senior Leadership Teams (DSLT) has been designed to enhance the leadership skills of senior leadership teams in secondary schools to help deliver improved outcomes for children and young people through school improvement. The programme is tailored to address school-specific development priorities and focuses on facilitation rather than direction. SELT's facilitators are drawn from headship, local authorities, HEIs and Diocesan backgrounds. They have undertaken significant NCSL training and take part in regular SELT facilitator training and resher days.
What the Programme offers:
- School improvement by developing the SLT and focusing on individual school priorities
- Space for a SLT to constructively think about how to address key challenges
- Ongoing support from an experienced facilitator
Programme Structure:
DSLT will take 6-9months to complete and will run using the programme structure below;
- Meeting with an experienced facilitator to find out what you wish to achieve from the programme
- 2 day residential workshop (this can be held on a Friday/Saturday if necessary)
- Opportunities for members of the SLT to take part in school visits
- 4 half day in school consultancy visits from your facilitator
- Review event to identify next steps and embed ongoing development for the SLT
