Conferences & Workshops & School-based INSET
Who is it for?
All SELT provision is designed to be inclusive but the focus is on developing the best leaders from those in the classroom to those highly experienced leaders fulfilling executive or system roles. There is a full range of dedicated workshops for leaders at different career stages in schools, academies and wider educational settings. There are, in addition, specialist programmes for governors and those in multi-agency settings.
What is it about?
SELT has for many years hosted high quality conferences, workshops, master-classes and events. In addition SELT provides a tailor made service to schools and academies for their INSET days. All of these are designed with a range of purposes in mind but all are underpinned by the wish to:
- promote leadership that ensures positive outcomes for children, young people, their leaders, teachers and school communities which promote the highest standards and the fulfilment of potential.
- develop confident skilled leaders and practitioners and robust effective schools
- ensure that practice is leading edge, appropriate and underpinned by policy/research
What will I get out of it?
The outcomes from provision will depend on the specific nature and intentions of a programme conference or workshop but amongst them and reflecting feedback are:
- inspiration and motivation
- greater awareness, knowledge and understanding
- strategic and practical approaches
- action planning for improvement or transformation
- a portfolio of techniques, tools and applications
- coaching, mentoring and support
- dealing with challenges, conflict and overcoming barriers
- policy direction and research
- securing accountability
- exemplars of good practice
- ideas, fun, joy and so much more!
