Who is it for?
ALV is designed for those who have a strategic role in school as a deputy or assistant head, head of department or co-ordinator in a primary/special school. Most importantly participants should have a whole school responsibility.
What is it about?
The programme comprises:
- A one hour web conference to introduce you to your learning consultant/facilitator and to set tasks for work based activity ahead of the first group workshop
- Three one day workshops interspersed with three sets of work based activity designed to develop leadership potential in agreed areas
- Two Hay Group 360o leadership diagnostics with supported development feedback
- A self administered climate interview
- Support throughout the programme from a dedicated learning consultant
- Regular mentoring and support from the headteacher/line manager
- Learning support from the peer group and an in-school coach
What will I get out of it?
ALV participants will:
- engage in the opportunity to become more self aware of personal strengths, attributes and leadership potential
- reflect upon measurable improvements in leadership performance and the impact on the motivation and performance of others;
- develop an understanding of how to develop the full range of leadership styles so that they can lead effectively in all situations
- interact with leaders from other schools, exchanging best practice and gaining insights into the full range of leadership practice.
